MY BIO
Who I Am
By profession I am a Museologist and work as a consultant on Conservation of cultural & natural heritage. I am also an Independent Researcher on current environmental issues related to climate change, uncertainty, sustainable development, resilience, transformation.
Speaking about my experience in the relevant field, I am working as a Research Associate in the TAPESTRY Project (Transformation as Praxis: Exploring Socially Just and Transdisciplinary Pathways to Sustainability in Marginal Environments) conducted by IDS, Sussex University. During the long period of my work, I have actively participated in several projects-
Worked as a Research Assistant in the Project entitled “Survey of Bengal Punthis Discovered in Sundarbans, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal” under Endangered Archives Programme of British Library.
Worked as a Project Coordinator in the Project entitled “Education & Environmental Awareness Programme (EEAP)" conducted by Botanical Survey of India.
Worked as a Research Associate in the Project entitled “Botanical and Meteorological History of Indian Ocean 1500– 1900" conducted by Sussex University.

Till today I have curated three collaborative international exhibitions-
one in Industrial Section of Indian Museum, Kolkata;
second one in India International Centre, New Delhi &
another in Botanical Garden of Indian Republic, Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
I am a recipient of University Grant Commission’s Junior and Senior Research Fellowship award. I have performed my research work on “Conservation, Care and Management of Manuscripts in Museums of West Bengal – A Micro Study”. I have also got Master degree in History from IGNOU and have been engaged as a Guest Lecturer in the Ancient Indian & World History Department of Sanskrit College & University situated in Kolkata.
I have Participated in several training programmes & workshops of which the most important ones are –
Training from National Research Laboratory for Conservation of Cultural Properties, Lucknow; &
Training from Indian Museum, Kolkata,
Workshop on Preservation of Palm leaf manuscript conducted by INTACH, Bhubaneswar etc.
International Workshop on Science and Technology in Stone Conservation Organised by Indian Museum, Kolkata & CTS Restoration Products India Pvt. Ltd. in December, 2015.
Cleaning & Scientific Examination of Easel Painting organised by Indian Museum & INTACH at Kolkata in November 2015.
My best work till date is my book that was published in 2020 which reflects all my hard work and effort up till now. It is named ‘The Conservation of Endangered Archives and Management of Manuscripts in Indian Repositories’ which has been published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing, UK.
